Librix is a place for readers to share what they love. These guidelines apply to everything you post or send on Librix: reviews, ratings, reactions, notes shared with your family, marketplace listings and photos, profile details, and chat messages. They are part of our Terms & Conditions.
Be kind and honest
- Critique books, not people. Disagreeing with someone's review is fine; attacking them is not.
- Describe the books you list accurately, including their condition, and use real photos.
- Keep your commitments. If you can't make a swap, let the other person know.
What's not allowed
There is zero tolerance for the following. We remove this content and may ban the account responsible without warning.
- Harassment and bullying: threats, intimidation, repeated unwanted contact, or encouraging others to target someone.
- Hate speech: attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age.
- Sexual content: nudity, pornography, sexual solicitation, or sexually explicit messages.
- Child sexual abuse and exploitation: any content or behavior that sexualizes, grooms, or endangers minors. See our child safety standards below.
- Violence: graphic violence, threats, or promoting self-harm or terrorism.
- Scams, spam, and fraud: fake listings, requests for payment details, phishing links, unsolicited advertising, or fake reviews.
- Illegal items and activity: listing anything other than books, including counterfeit or pirated copies, or using Librix to arrange illegal activity.
- Privacy violations: sharing someone else's personal information, such as their address or phone number, or photos of them, without consent.
- Impersonation: pretending to be another person, an author, or Librix.
Staying safe in the marketplace
- Choose a public meetup point, such as a café, library, or bookstore. Never use your home address.
- Tell someone where you're going. If you're under 18, bring a parent or guardian.
- Librix does not process payments. Never share bank details or passwords, and be wary of anyone who asks you to pay upfront.
- If something feels wrong, stop the conversation and report it.
Reporting content or a user
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, email support@librix.app. Include:
- the user's name;
- where the content is (for example, a review on a specific book, a listing, or a chat);
- a screenshot, if you can.
We review every report within 24 hours. We may remove the content, warn the user, or suspend or permanently ban their account. We may not share the outcome with you to protect everyone's privacy.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
Child safety standards
Librix strictly prohibits child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) of any kind. This includes grooming, sexualizing minors, sextortion, and trafficking.
- Users must be at least 13, or the minimum age of digital consent in their country, to create an account.
- Anyone can report CSAE content or behavior by emailing safety@librix.app. Reports are prioritized and reviewed as quickly as possible.
- When we find or are told about CSAM or CSAE, we immediately remove the content and permanently ban the accounts involved. We keep the evidence only as the law requires, and we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant national authorities.
- We comply with all applicable child safety laws and cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
Appeals
